Walking along Station Road, Bridge of Earn today around 1pm, I observed 3 vehicles, each well over 7.5 tonnes GVW, being driven across Bridge No. 81 over the railway line. This bridge has had a 7.5 tonnes maximum weight restriction for more than 5 years, but these large vehicles are still using it.

Is anything being done to enforce the restriction ?

Suggestion

What about temporary CCTV to catch and warn the offenders. Perhaps occasional monitoring of this road could be done.

Thanks for your post.

I am aware of the restriction on the bridge and I have previously warned drivers for not abiding it. To make you aware this offence is covered by a non endorsable fixed penalty conditional offer of a £30 fine.

I have made my station colleagues and officers at our Road Policing Unit aware of your post.
